Chapter 33: Post-9/11 GI Bill庐
Chapter 33 Post-9/11 GI Bill庐 benefits are paid based on your sponsor's percent of eligibility and at the rate at which you pursue your degree. Tuition and fee payments are disbursed directly to UMGC. Dependent children of active-duty servicemembers are eligible to receive the monthly housing allowance. Spouses are not eligible.
Chapter 35: Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance Program (DEA)
are paid directly to you in monthly benefits based on your training time (in an eight-week session, you must take at least 5 credits to receive your maximum benefit). If you are using Chapter 35 benefits, you are responsible for paying your tuition and fees directly to the university.
The Marine Gunnery Sergeant John David Fry Scholarship
Fry Scholarship benefits include tuition and fees paid directly to UMGC. Allowances for resource materials and supplies are based on the number of credit hours enrolled and housing allowances are based on your rate of pursuit. For academic terms beginning after August 1, 2018, Fry Scholarship recipients are eligible for Yellow Ribbon Program benefits.
Beginning December 17, 2021 Post-9/11 GI Bill庐 students who receive Monthly Housing Allowance (MHA) and/or kicker payments are required to聽聽to continue receiving their payments.

Please note: These "graduate training time" calculations are set by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and may vary slightly from UMGC's full-time graduate admissions policy. In case there are variations between the calculations, please proceed with the figures presented here.
- 8-week programs (3-term per calendar year programs) require 6 credits to be full time.
- 12-week programs (3-term per calendar year programs) require 6 credits to be full time.
- 11-week programs (4-term per calendar year programs) require 6 credits to be full time.
- Students in 13-week doctoral sessions are full time at 6 credits.

Length of Service (Based on Aggregate Active-Duty Service after September 10, 2001) & Your Maximum Benefit
- At least 36 months = 100%
- At least 30 continuous days on active duty (must be discharged due to service-connected disability) = 100%
- At least 30 months, but less than 36 months (includes entry-level and skill training) = 90%
- At least 24 months, but less than 30 months (includes entry-level and skill training) = 80%
- At least 18 months, but less than 24 months = 70%
- At least 6 months, but less than 18 months = 60%
- At least 90 days, but less than 6 months = 50%
