Pillars of Strength Application

Apply to the Pillars of Strength Scholarship

The Pillars of Strength Scholarship application consists of three sections. Before you begin, please review the eligibility requirements on the Pillars of Strength Scholarship webpage.

Please Note: Each year, the scholarship application opens November 11 and closes April 30.

Essay

Please write an essay which answers the following questions. Please note that each question must be answered in at least 200 words.

  • Caregiving can reveal inner strengths we didn’t know we had. What qualities or skills have you discovered in yourself through your caregiving role, and how do you hope to apply them to your education?
  • How has being a caregiver shaped who you are today? Share specific examples of how you’ve demonstrated resilience, adaptability, or personal growth while supporting your service member or veteran.
  • If you were selected as a scholarship recipient to pursue higher education, what excites you most about the future? What impact do you hope to make in your community or profession, and how does your caregiving experience prepare you for that role?
  • Share your purpose for furthering your education through the Pillars of Strength Scholarship at t ºÚÁÏÉçÇø and describe how earning your degree or certificate will transform your life, strengthen your community, and support your family.
  • What has been the most challenging aspect of your caregiving experience, and what has been the most rewarding? How have these experiences influenced who you are today?

Accepted file formats are .doc, .docx, and .pdf. File size cannot exceed 2MB.
