Who Can Use Office 365

Students, faculty, staff, and select alumni at t ºÚÁÏÉçÇø can access Microsoft Office 365 for free, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other classroom tools. Features depend on your role - active students get more than inactive students or alumni.

How to Access Office 365

You can use or download it to your computer or mobile device:

Online Access

Log in with your UMGC email (username@student.umgc.edu) using a browser on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.

Download & Install

Available for current students, faculty, and staff. Ensure your device meets .

Note: Online apps have fewer features. Mobile apps are optimized for devices but offer reduced functionality.

Key Features by User Type

Active Students, Faculty, Staff (A5 License)

  • Desktop apps: Up to 5 PCs/Macs, 5 tablets, and 5 phones
  • Web apps: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook
  • Additional apps: Publisher (PC), Access (PC), Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, Sway, Forms, Stream, Flow, PowerApps, Yammer

Inactive Students / Select Alumni (A1 License)

  • Web versions of Office apps
  • Desktop version of OneNote
  • Access to Teams and other collaboration tools
