UMGC now offers automated writing review, powered by artificial intelligence (AI).
What are the benefits of AI writing review?
- You'll receive an automated review of your writing within seconds, saving you time and effort.
- The first-level feedback you receive can then enhance your work with a tutor.
- Familiarize yourself with a powerful new tool to help further develop your writing
- Keep in mind that all automated feedback should be carefully reviewed and considered before implementing any advice.
How do I access it?
- Follow the same path you would to submit your work to a writing tutor (select Academic Support in your classroom, then Tutoring). Under the Drop Off Your Work option, you'll see AI Essay Review.
What’s the difference between AI essay review and liveor drop-off writing review?
- AI review is done by a proprietary AI for Learning tool, and the feedback you’ll get is ideal for early drafts—focusing on overall structure, style, and basic proofreading. You can incorporate the feedback you receive and resubmit as often as you like. For early brainstorming and final essay review, you may opt to connect with a live tutor or utilize our drop-off services.
Can I use both AI and live or drop-off writing review?
- You can. You may find that working with a live tutor helps you focus your initial thoughts, then AI enables you to get instantaneous feedback on an early draft, andthen drop-off writing review helps you put the finishing touches on your work.
