Francisco Muniz, EdD, is senior manager of subject tutoring at University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC) for the university’s stateside, Europe, and Asia divisions. Muniz grew up in Puerto Rico, where he obtained a bachelor’s in teaching English as a second language (TESL) and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in TESL from the University of Puerto Rico, Río Piedras. During his academic career, he worked as a peer English and Spanish tutor for undergraduate and graduate students at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico, Metropolitan Campus and at the University of Puerto Rico. In 2019, Muniz joined UMGC as manager of tutoring for the Graduate Learning Initiatives department.
