Global ceremonies and virtual events celebrate students around the world
Adelphi, Md.—April9, 2026— University of Maryland Global Campus(UMGC) today announced details for its Spring 2026globalcommencementseason andU.S.Grad Walk.
A total of 9,424UMGCstudents areexpected to complete degreesorcertificates betweenJanuary1andMay 30, 2026.That total includesan anticipated7,880U.S.-basedlearners, 830 in Europeand 714 in Asia.

The graduatinglearnersrepresentall 50 states,Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico,Guam, American Samoa,theNorthern MarianaIslandsandcountries around the world.Of those, 62% areaffiliated with the military, including servicemembers, spouses,and their dependents.

UMGC’s Spring 2026 global commencement schedule includes five in‑person ceremonies across Asia and Europe:
- Japan Commencement in Tokyo onSaturday, April 11, 2026;
- Okinawa Commencement onSaturday, April 18, 2026;
- Korea Commencement in Seoul onSaturday, April 25, 2026;
- Germany (Ramstein)CommencementonSaturday, May 2, 2026; and
- Guam Commencement onSaturday, May 9, 2026
Following the global in-person ceremonies, the Stateside Virtual CommencementwilllaunchonSaturday, May9,forgraduates in the U.S., including those who may be unable toparticipatein an in-person event.
As theculmination ofthe spring commencement season,UMGC will host itsannualStatesideSpringGrad WalkMay 14–17attheCollege Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Adelphi, Md. Grad Walk—an in-person, walkthrough celebrationwhere learners receiveindividual name recognition andguestscan watchtheir loved onesas they cross the stage—was first launched in2022and nowdrawsthousandsofgraduatesand their loved onestobiannual events held eachwinter and spring.
