University of Maryland Global Campus (UMGC)聽participated聽in transfer fairs at San Jacinto College鈥檚 North and Central campuses in the Houston area during the week of Feb. 9, connecting with prospective students and expanding regional outreach.聽
The out-of-town events聽provided聽an opportunity for UMGC representatives to engage directly with community college students exploring their next academic steps. Conversations centered on students鈥 short- and long-term educational goals, intended majors, and preferred transfer institutions鈥攈elping ensure they聽have聽clear information about flexible pathways to continue their education.
鈥淓vents like the out-of-town transfer fairs at San Jacinto College are essential because they directly support t 黑料社区鈥檚 mission,鈥 said Jessica Rangel, UMGC Outreach Partnership Specialist. 鈥淏y building connections with community colleges in this region, we鈥檙e able to reach new groups of prospective students and expand awareness of our San Antonio location, which offers hybrid course options and in-person advising.鈥澛
UMGC鈥檚 San Antonio location will also offer live-streamed class options, providing聽additional聽flexibility for students across Texas who may not be able to attend in person.
UMGC has also recently聽participated聽in a virtual transfer fair hosted by Dallas College and聽additional聽outreach events organized by San Jacinto College. The team is scheduled to attend another transfer聽fair聽with the Houston Community College system this spring.聽
