Discover artist Gladys Goldstein鈥檚 work.

Baltimore artist Gladys Goldstein (1918鈥2010) wrote, "My canvases are not explicit statements, but hints of things that are, or were, or might have been鈥攐f memories, of feelings."

Although her work is abstract, Goldstein's primary source of inspiration was nature. She created the impression of light emanating from within her paintings and captured the essence, rather than the appearance, of the natural world. In an artistic career spanning more than 75 years, Goldstein worked with oils, acrylics, watercolor, drawing, collage, and handmade paper. Goldstein was also the first American artist to use the Mexican printmaking technique聽mixografia to create and reproduce textured prints.
