Tuition Discount Details
This discount will be applied to out-of-state tuition for eligible students in most programs.* This discount cannot be combined with certain scholarships or discount programs, including the Maryland Completion Scholarship, the Military New Graduate Student Savings Program, the Alumni Succeed Again Scholarship, and the discount for out-of-state community college alliances. Discounted tuition rates may not fall below the standard in-state rate or any special tuition rate offered to eligible active-duty military servicemembers, their spouses, or dependents.

Earn Credit for OpenClassrooms Courses
UMGC will award up to 61 transfer credits as follows to OpenClassrooms students and graduates who have completed one of the following apprenticeship programs. You can earn 3–6 credits for a pre-apprenticeship program and up to 55 credits for completing an apprenticeship, as outlined below.
You may be able to earn 3–6 creditsfor completing one of the following OpenClassrooms pre-apprenticeship programs. The completed programs can help you earn credit for courses that have been marked as equivalent to the experiences you've gained in the OpenClassrooms program.

UMGC may accept up to 60 credits for an associate degree from a community college. In total, UMGC accepts up to 90 creditsfrom all sources toward a bachelor’s degree. So, community college students with an associate degree may be able to complete a bachelor’s degree with only 30 credits at just under $10,000 with in-state tuition or just under $12,000 with the 25 percent discount on out-of-state tuition.

Apply for admission to UMGC:Once you’ve completed an OpenClassrooms apprenticeship, submit t ’s. It typically takes about 10 minutes. Be sure to select your employer or organizationon the application form.
Submit proof of attendance:You must submit proof of eligibility—such as an unofficial transcript—from OpenClassrooms that clearly states your name and the dates attended. E-mail copies of these items tocls@umgc.edu.
Earn credit for your education and eligible experience: Submit your official transcripts from any previous institutions of higher education, including OpenClassrooms.Your transcripts fromOpenClassrooms allow you to verify your eligibility for a tuition discount and earn transfer credit. You may continue to submit yourOpenClassrooms transcripts as you complete courses for UMGC to evaluate transfer credit.
Request Your Transcript: When you’re finished takingOpenClassrooms courses, or complete an apprenticeship, request your official transcript by logging into yourOpenClassrooms account. For questions regarding this process, please contact OpenClassrooms.
Register for classes: Once you're admitted to UMGC, you will receive a student ID (EmplID) so you can register for courses online. Check the schedule of classes to, and thenregister for classes onlineusing the MyUMGC Student Portal.

Apprenticeship graduates are also eligible for a discount of up to 25 percent on out-of-state (non-Maryland resident) tuition at t . With this discount, you may be able to save more than$7,000for your remaining bachelor's degree courses at t if you are applying as an out-of-state resident.
